Utopia is an installation intervention in the form of an expansive wall drawing reminiscent of a utopian topographical landscape – an “All Over Structure” on all four elevator towers of the foyer of the Surgical Center Düsseldorf.

The drawing is composed of fine, interrelated lines that seem to visually break down the rigid boundaries of space. The perspective and the dynamic linework create depth and illusion. A kind of dual reality arises from the tension between definition and transgression, between concrete, drawn work and optical illusion—and in doing so, it also has a physical effect, as the work disrupts and alters the usual parameters of spatial perception. The "mountains" are drawn in such a way that the viewer gains a slight bird's-eye view and might feel as if they are slowly lifting off the ground and floating above the landscape.

It is a precisely executed hand drawing with no repeating patterns or repetitions. The motif emphasizes growth, vitality, and pulsation, which is a beautiful symbol of genesis.

The infinity of the landscape, the lightness, and the ephemeral nature of the drawing are clearly evident. The viewer seems to be inside the drawing, and their perception is determined by their movement in space.
