For the very intimate spaces, we created a sensuously cloud-like drawing with waterproof colored pencil on a deep blue primed cloth.
The drawing follows a net-like structure—meticulously executed by hand—reminiscent of molecular bonds or cosmic structures. The large, quickly wall-filling hand-drawn piece is intended to pay tribute to the deceased and offer relatives a space for reflection. In its delicacy and precision, its density and depth, it radiates a sensual aura.
The drawing is based on an everyday object—a hairnet, which may seem somewhat mundane, but on the one hand, it contains a human element and is also important for the drawing, as the structure of the net develops from the given layout of the everyday object. Through the free translation during the drawing process, the line structure detaches itself from its model and can be freely assigned.
The drawing describes a journey: the searching line that slowly takes shape. The "here and now" is implied. Using colored pencils, the lines become very delicate and vibrant. Depending on the pressure applied, they can range from a pale gray—almost invisible—to a rich white, giving the drawing a three-dimensional quality. The image becomes a space.
Drawing is a focused process that gradually builds up to the finished image.
This gives it a high aesthetic quality that is perceptible from afar, as well as from the microcosm or macrocosm—and even up close, it appears highly sensual in its details.
